TRALA ELECTS TERRY YOUNG, ADVANTAGE TRUCK
LEASING PRESIDENT, AS 2003-2004 CHAIRMAN

ALEXANDRIA, VA - March 14, 2003 - Advantage Truck Leasing President and CEO Terry Young was unanimously chosen by the members of the Truck Renting and Leasing Association as its 2003-2004 Chairman at the association's 2003 Conference and 25th Annual Meeting held March 12-16 in Rancho Mirage, California.

Young, the association's 26th chairman, challenged the association to strengthen the industry's exceptional safety and operational profile and work with TRALA's leadership as they continue to expand programs and services to for the membership.

Young predicted that TRALA is poised to become one of the leading trade associations within the trucking industry.

"My prediction is that TRALA will unquestionably be the clearest and strongest voice in the transportation community," Young said in his acceptance speech on March 15. "For me, TRALA is the organization that stands out. First, TRALA is focused on its mission. Second, TRALA members approach every issue and subject with integrity. And third, TRALA members are willing to work together for the common good, setting aside their competitive differences to move the industry forward."

In addition to Young, the TRALA Board of Directors elected the following members as officers:

  • Chris Culley, senior vice president and general manager of Ruan Transportation Management Systems in Des Moines, Iowa, was elected as first vice chairman.
  • Jerry Kress, president of Carmenita Leasing in Santa Fe Springs, Calif., was elected second vice chairman.
  • Thomas D. Brown, president of Brown NationaLease in Des Moines, Iowa, was elected secretary.
  • Frank E. Walter, president of Palmer Leasing Group in Indianapolis, Ind., was elected treasurer.
  • William J. Ford, president NationaLease in Oakbrook Terrace, Ill., was elected immediate past chairman.

Also at the annual meeting, the following members were elected to the association's 2003-2006 Board of Directors:

  • Chris Culley, senior vice president and general manager of Ruan Transportation Management Systems in Weston, Florida.
  • Pat Crahan, director of government relations of U-Haul International Inc. in Phoenix, Arizona.
  • Thomas Fleming, president of Aim NationaLease in Girard, Ohio.
  • Reed Murphy III, president of MHC Truck Leasing Inc. in Kansas City, Missouri.
  • Jerry Kress, president of Carmenita Leasing in Santa Fe Springs, California.
  • Mark Siegel, president and chief executive officer of Edart NationaLease in Hartford, Connecticut.
  • Robert Hunter, president of Hunter Idealease in Butler, Pennsylvania.

To fill a vacancy on the 2001-2004 board, the members elected Bert Wise, president of Mack Lease of Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska.

The following members are Appointed Directors for 2003-2004:

  • Michael Breeden, executive director of national accounts for Cummins Inc. in Columbus, Indiana.
  • Michael Cancelliere, vice president of North American sales for International Truck and Engine Corp. in Warrenville, Illinois.
  • Doug Clark, president of AmeriQuest Transportation and Logistics Resources in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.
  • Terry Dubowick, director of Mack Leasing System Inc. in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
  • William J. Ford, president of NationaLease in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois.
  • William W. Kennedy, president of Idealease Inc. in North Barrington, Illinois.
  • David Renz, vice president of worldwide sales and marketing for Eaton Corporation in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
  • Bob Southern, president of PACCAR Leasing Company in Bellevue, Washington.
