Ryder System, Inc. Driver Robley Moreau Named TRALA Driver of the Year

Alexandria, VA - April 7, 2008- Lloyd "Robley" Moreau of Houston, Texas, has logged over 3.3 million accident-free miles driving tractor trailers over the past 37 years. For that lifetime performance of safe driving, Robley was selected as the Truck Renting and Leasing Association's (TRALA) 2008 Driver of the Year. This award program is sponsored by Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company.

Robley, an employee of Ryder System, Inc., was recognized at TRALA's 2008 Annual Meeting on April 4 in Phoenix, Arizona. In addition to an all-expense paid trip to the event for himself and his wife, Linda, Robley received a trophy and cash prize.

“This is a distinct honor that our industry bestows each year upon only one driver possessing the highest excellence in driving and safety standards, as demonstrated throughout their careers,” said Peter J. Vroom, president and CEO of TRALA. “Robley Moreau was chosen as the 2008 Driver of the Year because of his outstanding driving and safety record. He has driven without an accident for 37 years and maintained a perfect driver's log for 24 consecutive years with Ryder System, Inc."

With over 37 year of over the road driving experience, Robley Moreau's accomplishments speak for themselves. He was previously named Ryder's Supply Chain Solutions Driver of the Year 2006; Team Driver of the Year 2006; Team Driver of the Month for June 2006 and February 2002; and received the One Million Safe Miles Award from Ryder in January 2003. In addition, Robley puts his driving skills to good use as a trainer of new drivers. Robley is also a member of the American Legion.

Robley is an excellent representative of a team that works to earn our customers' trust each day through expertise, safety principles, and a commitment to delivering on the Ryder promise of customer service, " stated Ryder Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Greg Swienton. "Robley is well-deserving of this honor and we are extremely proud that he has been recognized for his accomplishments by TRALA."

This year, 13 drivers received certificates of merit for their outstanding service. These drivers with outstanding service are:
