TRALA Elects Mike McMahon, President of Southeastern Leasing and Rental, as 2007-2008 Second Vice Chairman

Alexandria, VA - April 18, 2007 - Southeastern Leasing and Rental Company President Mike McMahon of Charlotte, North Carolina, was unanimously chosen by the members of the Truck Renting and Leasing Association (TRALA) as its 2007-2008 Second Vice Chairman at the association’s recent 2007 Annual Meeting.

“Prior to being elected to this new position with TRALA, Mike was already recognized as a strong leader within our industry -- demonstrated through both his personal business success and commitment to industry-wide priorities. In this new leadership capacity, he is well positioned to affect the critical issues that will impact our industry in the future,” said TRALA president and CEO Peter Vroom.

McMahon predicts a bright future ahead for vehicle renting and leasing and he will work to help TRALA grow in membership and strength. “I have been involved in the trucking industry my whole life and I am honored to have the opportunity to give back to the industry,” said McMahon. “I am eager to begin working with our members to advance such issues as tort reform, serious shortage of maintenance technicians and most importantly, safety and security.”

McMahon is already actively promoting safety and security within the industry by hosting the National Share the Road Safety Tour at Southeastern Leasing and Rental’s Charlotte, NC location on April 19. This event, sponsored by the American Trucking Associations, the North Carolina Trucking Association and Mack Trucks, will hold demonstrations of highway safety measures. “I hope this event will raise highway safety awareness and enhance the professional perception of the trucking industry,” said McMahon. “Regardless of vehicle type, safety is the number one concern.” For more information on the event, please visit www.atastr.org.

TRALA, based in Alexandria, VA, is a voluntary, non-profit national trade association, organized in 1978 to provide a unified and focused voice for the truck renting and leasing industry. TRALA's membership includes more than 500 leasing and rental firms and 100 suppliers that make up nearly the entire truck renting and leasing industry. The renting and leasing industry is responsible for approximately 35 percent of all new Class 3 through 8 commercial truck registrations.
